Accra, Jan. 25 – “Morocco must achieve a feat against Ghana to progress in the tournament,” said Moroccan squad manager, Henri Michel, following the Atlas Lions’ 3-2 defeat to Guinea in the second day of the 26th African Cup of Nations, Group A.
“Things have got more complicated. Our game against The Black Stars is not going to be a holiday, but we will play for a win,” said the Moroccan strategist, who admitted that his men were not in their day.
“We made mistakes and paid cash,” said Morocco’s star Youssef Hadji in an allusion to the horrible mistakes the Moroccan squad made during this game.
“We should concentrate on our next game against the hosts Ghana, though it will not be a holiday,” he said.
The Atlas Lions are in a bad posture to clinch a ticket for the second round, as they should best the hosts Ghana, while Guinea have an easy game against the group outsider Namibia.
