African Cup of Nations: Alloudi to miss next games against Guinea, Ghana

alloudi-2.jpgRabat, Jan. 22 – Morocco hitman Soufiane Alloudi, who scored a hat trick against Namibia on Monday, will not show up in the forthcoming games of the Atlas Lions against Guinea and Ghana.

“I will miss the two forthcoming games against Guinea and Ghana because of injury, but I will back my teammates in the second round,” Al-Ain striker told the press on Tuesday.

Alloudi scored a double in four minutes and a third before half time, but was violently tackled by a frustrated defender after the interval and had to leave the pitch on a stretcher at the 62nd minute.

“Alloudi’s injury is light and raises no concern,” said the squad doctor Boujemaa Zahi, adding that this injury requires some rest and treatment for some time.

The prolific Moroccan suffers from ligament elongation, but his situation is of no concern and will undertake medical treatment, pointed out the longstanding doctor.

The Atlas Lions will have to find an alternative solution in attack in its decisive game against Guinea on Thursday, before playing the host country Ghana on Monday.

Morocco, which trashed Namibia 5-1 in their first game, tops Group A through a better goal average over Ghana, which bested Guinea 2-1 in the opening game of the 26th African Cup of Nations.
