Guinea beats Morocco in a dramatic game with a 3-2 win

January 24th, 2008 | By: Mahmoud | 37 Comments »

ghana_2008_logo.gifThe Atlas Lions had their first loss in the African Cup of Nations. It was one of the most dramatic games of the tournement starring the South African referee Damon Jerome. He whistled an imaginary penalty for Guinea, while it should been a foul against before the guinean player was brought down. Failed to give a penalty in the other hand for the Moroccan after a hand ball in the guinean surface of operations. A lot of fouls were not whistled from both sides, it was a mad game. What a thriller to the last second. Morocco’s chances to go to the next tour are in the hands of Ghana. A win against Ghana means an automatic qualification of the Moroccans to the quarter finals.

Reply to Ghany, you are stuck in the 18th century. Africa is bigger than to hold one race and we are all brothers and sisters. It is just the same with the Asian Cup, when say Saudi Arabia plays with Japan, Thailand,… when you think of Asia you think of Chinese or Japanese. The track record of the North African Teams in this tournament can speak for itself. You can be a racist and stay in the 18th century or you can educate yourself and join us in the 21st century.

Well ghany, u r as ignorant as it can be… Ghana will be a thing of the past. Monday is the D day when u watch ur team out of the way, and then u will take it out with Guinea, u will forget about north African teams. One more thing, the Accra stadium is a corn field, it doesn’t help to play a soccer game but pooka boo under the grass. U watch the ball sink in Accra soon…..To be continued….

Al and Rami:
I am just stating the facts, there are no race issues here. I am talking about Tunisians, Egyptians and Moroccans weaknesses and lack of competence in a game where African were pioneers for years.
Let’s compare players: you have many from Ghana, Kameroon, and Nigeria playing in Europe and England specifically compared to Moroccans and Tunisians pros who only play in subleagues who hire them for peanuts.

This year the CAN belongs to Ghana, take it or leave it.

Ghany, we’re not talking about players, we’re talking about the TEAMS accomplishments. We’re just as African as you, stop with your arrogance. Everyone deserves respect and you’re giving us none. Also, let me remind you that it is Egypt that has the most titles on the continent and guess where most of their players play? That’s right in Egypt. You underestimate Tunisian, Moroccan, and Egyptian domestic leagues at your peril. It doesn’t matter who you’re players are signed to, it matters how they play together. And frankly, Morocco and Egypt have looked MUCH more impressive than Ghana at this tournament. You can be proud but you can’t deny facts. You may win the tournament but you’re at home and in the African Cup that can make all the difference. I actually supported your team during the World Cup and still wish them well… Plus don’t get me started on that pitch. Serious players? What are you talking about? Even your coach called it the worst pitch he’s seen in Africa in 20 years. Get your story straight.

By the way, you’re talking about African pioneers: Tunisia is the first team to win a game at the world cup in a time when African teams used to get whooped 7 nothing when they went. Thats why there was only 1 african representative in 1978 and before. After our performance, FIFA raised it to two teams cuz they saw potential. If thats not pioneering African Football I don’t know what is.

Rami:
Your information is suspect, you facts are twisted. Ghana will win because it can, no other team will have a good reason to blame its failure on the hosting country. Ghana is doing a good job organizing the tournament, Ghana officials ordered “Taamia,” for Egyptians, “Lham Errass,” for Moroccans and “Lablabi,” for Tunisians: what can you say about that. We are just a good hosting Nation with a great team that deserves to win and we will win.

I suspect that you’re not even from Ghana and that you know nothing about modern day football or football history. You sound the the so called Ben Ali who’s posting on the Tunisia blog. You just use a different alias everytime huh? all you have to do is look it up but you’re clearly not interested in having a serious debate. you just like to make a mockery of people that actually know what they’re talking about. the role of provocateur gets old quick…

I run the Ghana offside, and I’m not even half as confident as Ghany that the host nation will come home with the trophy.

Just ignore him, Rami. BTW, did you listen to the latest podcast over at the offside? One of the topics is how North African teams are doing so well in the tournament, better than expected, despite the location of this year’s tournament.

Thanks Inara, I gotta go check that podcast out. Hopefully Tunisia can join the likes of Morocco and Egypt in the “lovely play” category cuz our first game was nothing to write home about (two nice goals aside). I’m afraid Lemerre is killing us right now. If he liberates Chikhaoui I think we can do something. It goes deeper than that but that would be a big step.

ghany , u have no style what so ever but to make contradictions in this blog. You belong to the past. People like u have nothing to talk about sports but to create chaos. I m not going to be in ur level cause ur not worth it. U need to be educated a little about north African teams which u call Arabs . Well this same people made African soccer go forward. Remember when ur people were cheering moroccans in 1986 , which the first country in Africa to pass to the next tour. North African teams gave a lot to the african football that’s why u have 5 teams going to the world cup. U need to get alot educated to talk to the pionners of football because they are out of your reach. U kiss this blog good bye cause u r ignorant one more time homy… U need to go in a blog for kids…… By the way how old r u ???? Kiddo

Killa:
You are ignorant, arrogant and full of shit….
North Africans are much better in football and without those guys who made it; Europe would never open their doors to the black football: don’t forget that until now in Spain and Italy spectators are making monkeys voices when black footballers plays in their team…you should say thank you to the Moroccans and other ARABS who made it before and open the doors for Africa, another thing remember without Moroccans trying to host the game Africa will be never considered as an continent able to host a game in that level: They still have doubts about the ability of South Africa….
Another thing: when Arabic countries host any game, you can feel it, is more fun and they put their heart but you guys it is sucks, today we saw that Nigeria is almost out + Zimbabwe+ Ghana will be soon on Monday+++++ Don’t be too happy about world cup on 2002 because it was sucky even Argentina got out on the first round….Senegal and Asian teams put some thing on the food and don’t forget that African voodoo is known.

The Tunisian Players were determined to win this game today and closed the deal in the 1st thirty five minutes of the match. Morocco’s Game tomorrow is also very important and I am hoping the Moroccan Players will score as many goals as possible to secure a place in the next round. You can watch the African Cup 2008 live at: http://sos-comp.com/can/

This Ghany guy is so stupid, that I am now a full supporter of the Moroccan team (I am Tunisian). Go, go Atlas Lions!! Morocco actually has played better than Ghana (by Ghana;s own players and presses admission Ghana is playing like crap) Anyway, with the host country out of the way, the competition might be a little bit fairer.

Ghana was terrible against Namibia. They barely scored and in my opinion Namibia was the one deserving to win for playing that good against the host nation. Ghany you are probably not African just someone from god only knows where trying to create friction and racism. To all the Arabs posting so far, keep your cool and don’t give this guy what he is looking for, we are better than this.

Ghany, my poor idiot Ghany, your ignorance is as big as your culinary knowledge , but please stop your bs and your xenophobic comments or “get lost”, nobody needs to read your s….t
