National Team: Opinions after the loss to Ghana
(MTNfootball) Morocco’s coach Henri Michel critised the team’s preparation but fell short of saying that they didn’t deserve to be in Ghana.
The French coach was answering questions during the press conference after a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Ghana Black Stars in Group A of MTN Africa Cup of Nations Ghana 2008 played at Ohene Djan Sports Stadium Accra on Monday.
“First of all I want to congratulate Ghana for a good game. On my team, this should be a learning lesson for us. We have totally failed to live up to our expectations. Our preparations were not good and you can not win a cup like that,” Michel said.
On whether his future lies with Atlas Lions, Michel said: “I will not quit. We have to look ahead, build a sane side for 2010 World Cup/MTN Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers due to begin in June this year.”
Atlas Lions defender Abedslam Ouaddou echoed his coach’s comments but went further to criticise the team and the referees.
“We have given away a lot of free kicks which led to goals. We are not dead yet but we need to recover quickly before the next qualifiers,” the tall centre back said.
The defender also had no kind words for the referees.
“We from North Africa cannot win a tournament from this part of the world. The referees, fans and every body don’t like us,” he concluded.

and ect…but now you have only girls.
i’m the one who loves soccer.

Mahmoud, thanks for your kind words during and after our loss to Cameroon. It’s much appreciated.
